textPlus Child Safety Standards Policy
Last Updated: March 10, 2025
textPlus (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates two private communication apps, text+ and Next+, intended for users 13 years of age or older. Although our apps are not child-directed, we take child safety seriously and comply with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards. Below are our commitments and procedures to protect minors from exploitation or abuse.
1. Published Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation, which is explicitly stated in our [Terms of Service]. In particular:
Strict Prohibition
Any content depicting or describing the sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor (including child sexual abuse material, CSAM) is forbidden on our platforms.Immediate Enforcement
Accounts or content violating this prohibition will be removed or disabled at once, and we will fully cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
2. In-App Mechanism for User Feedback
We offer a clear in-app reporting method for users to flag any inappropriate or illegal content, including potential CSAE:
How to Report
Within the settings menu of text+ or Next+, tap “Support” and file a ticket. Provide details or evidence of the violation.Follow-Up
Our support team promptly reviews all reports and takes swift enforcement measures, including content removal, user bans, and reporting confirmed CSAM to authorities.
3. Addressing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Upon obtaining actual knowledge of any CSAM:
Immediate Removal
We remove the content from our apps and suspend or ban the associated user account(s).Mandatory Reporting
We will report all confirmed CSAM to law enforcement and the relevant authorities (e.g., the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, NCMEC, in the U.S.).Ongoing Improvement
Although text+ and Next+ are private messaging platforms, we continually refine our processes to detect and address potential CSAM.
4. Compliance with Child Safety Laws
Our apps comply with all applicable child safety laws and regulations. Specifically:
Mandatory Reporting
We report confirmed CSAM to the appropriate authorities. For the U.S., that includes the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). In other regions, we follow relevant local laws.Cooperation with Authorities
We respond promptly to legal requests from law enforcement and assist with investigations involving child endangerment and exploitation.Age Restrictions
Users must be at least 13 years old to use text+ or Next+. We will disable accounts found to have been created by individuals under our minimum age requirement.
5. Child Safety Point of Contact
Google Play or any relevant authority can contact our Child Safety representative concerning CSAE incidents or policy-related inquiries:
